Artist Information

Introduction

As a non-profit community gallery, our artwork is as diverse as our community.

Unlike other galleries, we do not seek out a piece or artist we feel fits the theme of the exhibit's theme. We jury in artists, and invite them to bring the work they feel best expresses the theme chosen for the bi-monthly exhibit.

One of our strengths is that we do not have a particular medium or style. In every exhibit, we have a mix of folk art, contemporary abstracts, impressionistic landscapes, photography - you name the style and medium and it will be included.

Call for Artwork

Once accepted as an exhibiting artist, you will be free to bring whatever artwork relates to the upcoming exhibit's theme on the Saturday below from 9 AM - 1 PM. The Curators Committee will determine based on the artwork submitted which art will be included in each exhibit.

If your work is selected to be included in a particular exhibit, the exhibiting artist (you) agrees to provide your choice of 6-8 hours of volunteer time to the Arts Clayton Gallery during the exhibit or pay a $25 exhibit fee. Artwork is to remain on exhibit until the end of the exhibit.

Volunteers are key to running the non-profit community gallery. Volunteer time for Arts Clayton includes: helping at the gallery on a particular day, working on a special project, helping at a gallery special event, coordinating a satellite exhibit, helping the curators hang art, etc.

Exhibiting artists are required to be a current member of Arts Clayton or another SCAVA organization. Arts Clayton annual memberships are $35.00.

In 2008, we will be accepting artwork from exhibiting artists on the following days:
