Art
in School Initiative
45,000
students in Clayton County's Public Schools. Hundreds
in private schools, pre-K programs, and home schools.
The
Art in Schools Initiative through Arts Clayton supports
the work of teachers in helping students reach their full
potential. There are 150 Fine Arts teachers in Clayton County's
50 public schools ~ including 56 elementary art and music
teachers, 23 band directors, 18 chorus directors, 18 symphonic
directors, 7 drama teachers, 2 dance teachers, and a technology
program. Arts Education has a profound impact on cognitive
learning skills ~ resulting in higher SAT scores, school
attendance, academic performance, and preparation for career
and post secondary education.
